Parent Involvement

Running a Scouting program takes a lot of work. All of our Leaders and Executive are volunteers. We ask that all parents help us with our fundraising activities. Camps usually need a couple of parents to run the kitchens, and all parents are expected to help clean up when leaving camps ("grab-and-go" is discouraged).

Part of the registration process is a second cheque made payable to the group. If parents do not help throughout the year, this cheque will be cashed; otherwise the cheque will be torn up (or returned) at the end of the Scout year. The Executive is currently working on clearly defined criteria for what constitutes 'sufficient involvement'.

If you are available to help as a Leader, or with a camp, or in any other facility, please let any Leader or Executive know.
